Believe me, my young friend (said the water rate solemnly), there is nothing—
absolutely nothing—half so much worth as simply messing about in boats.
Simply messing…nothing seems really to matter, that’s the charm of it.
Whether you get away, or whether you don’t,
whether you arrive at your destination or whether you reach somewhere else,
or whether you never get anywhere at all,
you’re always busy, and you never do anything in particular…

The Wind in the Willows

Welcome to the YAGO pages!

It's all about designing and building boats.

Our own YAGO 31 is the fifth steel boat I build myself, to my own design and using an assembly method called folded steel, or, more poetically, ORIGAMI. See the building Diaries to follow our progress.

All of Yago 31 is available for free: Plans, designs, documentation and all. You will also find a growing number of other designs, concepts and projects here, so check in regularly for
  • designs and concepts for other boats I am working on,
  • buiding news of boats under construction
  • a friendly welcome to all your enquiries ;-)

Enjoy these pages, and Fair Winds To You All

Work went fast, the 2 half hulls were complete in just one week, 40 hours, and will now be blasted and painted before assembly along the centerline.

More in the new Building Diary for the Yago 36.
